Eugenie is an excellent tour guide! She had extreme patience when other patrons asked endless questions with little regard for other group members. She is knowledgeable and energetic!
Sophia conducted the tour with professionalism and an ideal sense of pace. My fellow art aficionado and I appreciated viewing a mélange of works, representing different time periods, styles, artists, messages and types of construction. Sophia was very patient with our questions and quite knowledgeable. For a first time visitor especially, I frankly don't think the grand museum should be ventured without a guide and I would highly recommend Sophia. Kudos to Sophia for making an adventure I so looked forward to even better than anticipated!
We enjoyed Christine very much. She was delightful. Her subject matter knowledge far exceeds the demands of a three hour tour. She took us to the main attractions and explained each of them. Thanks to her we were able to spend the rest of the day revisiting some galleries and exploring new ones. You could see a big part of the collections in three days. Christine kindly finished the tour at the Richelieu Cafe.
Eve was terrific, she gave some amazing information on some of the more interesting exhibits and pieces and kept the tour interesting and informative. We have already recommended it to other friends heading to Paris in 2012.
Some tours are incredibly boring because the tour guide is focused primarily on dates and statistics, others because the tour guide can be patronising. Catherine - clearly well-educated in the arts and history of The Louvre - delivered accurate (and sometimes amusing) information in a manner that we found exceptionally easy to understand and appreciate. The headsets worked very well, and her vocal clarity was without fault. Her passion for arts and history were evident, managing to hold our interest for the entire 3 hour tour! Even our 15 year old niece remained interested! All told we thoroughly enjoyed the tour - though it is clear that much more than 3 hours is needed to more thoroughly explore the Louvre. My only concern (admittedly minor) was that we were given the impression that The Louvre was less busy at night when it was evident that this is not the case. We still had a fabulous time; thanks Catherine!
On the day of our visit the Louvre was very very crowded. Without a tour guide the visit would have been a disaster. Catherine our guide was excellent she showed us all the highlights of the museum and provided an interesting and insightful commentary. We booked the tour as a family and it was enjoyed by all! I came away feeling I had seen some wonderful things and knew a great deal more about them than when I had arrived.
Great tour given - we only had a few days in Paris it was perfect in focusing on the masterpieces. Tour guide was very informative and saw a good range of paintings and sculptures. Would definitely recommend.
